PRACTICE FIRMS IN OUR SCHOOL

The concept of work in our school is cross-curricular, and practice firms have gone furthest in this process. They connect all economic subjects (entrepreneurship, economics, bookkeeping, business communications, statistics, marketing and shareholding) and foreign languages (English and German).
There are many advantages of this kind of work – students work and decide themselves, theoretical knowledge is confirmed through practical work, they use theory in practice, they learn faster and easier through practice, they develop creativity and responsibility...
Our school began with the work in practice firms in 1997 as the first school in Croatia. Today, in the year 2003, we have a developed system of practice firms which do business with each other, but also with practice firms from the whole world.

The program of practice firms is extended through all four years of high school education as a part of all economic subjects, and the global plan for four years is as follows:

• 1st year: establishing a firm, presentation of the firm and oneself, making visiting cards, memorandum, fair preparations
• 2nd year: business communication, starting to work with other firms, entering basic business changes (by segments)
• 3rd year: work in school’s practice firms and work in different departments, foreign trade, business communication in English and German
• 4th year: continuing to work in the practice firms and preparation for high school graduation
  

There are four practice firms on the school level:

Retail sale of genuine Croatian products

INFO BK Ltd.
Retail sale of computers and IT equipment
